Programs

Global Service Learning

Short term global study can introduce students to the business, cultural, social, and political environments of the host community. Participants obtain knowledge and understanding of local, national and/or global issues and the interconnectedness and interdependency of different communities and populations. Participants are equipped to act effectively and responsibly at local, national and global levels for a more peaceful, just and equitable world. It also provides an opportunity to build workplace skills outside of a normal classroom environment.

We work closely with middle and high school educators, parents, and IB coordinators to ensure our participants gain the skills and experiences they need to become the global leaders of our future.

Domestic Service Learning

Bright Light’s domestic service learning programs allow students to begin to understand and tackle the social issues facing some of this country's most prominent cities. Just like with our global service learning programs, our programs enable educators to tie course curriculum and concepts with hands-on service opportunities in the community. Service Learning helps students enhance course learning, gain valuable skills for employment and encourage civic engagement.

Corporate Engagement
& Community Partnerships

Bright Light Volunteers has worked with groups such as Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Dallas’ Blue Corp Program for employee engagement and service. With the DFW area office we will hosted a month long winter weather coat drive, collected over 100 coats and partnered with Heart House Dallas to distribute warmth to the refugee population they serve.
